 Hello Everyone! Last week I began my research into the requirements for changing a motorcycle tire. This week, I used the knowledge gained so far and looked into the various tools I will need to complete the work. It turns out there are many different tools to do the job. Some are basic, and some are more advanced. The price for the tools fluctuates accordingly as well. Tools that make the work much more easy are much more expensive. The photo below shows the tools that I have acquired to help me with my genius hour project. Match the font colour in the description below with the coloured dots for an explanation of what each tool can do. Bead Breaker Tools  - These tools are positioned between the tire and rim and use leverage to break the tire bead separating the tire wall from the rim. Hello Everyone! It has been another eventful week in the world of motorcycle repair. I began this week delving further into researching how to change a motorcycle tire. I figured the first place to look would be the owner's manual for a motorcycle that I own. When it came to wheel maintenance, the owner's manual only discussed Tire Pressure Inspection , Tire Wear Inspection , and general Tire Inspection for cracks, cuts and punctures. The manual does not discuss how to replace a worn or damaged tire but does go on to let the reader know that a replaced tire should have the tire balance inspected. Tire balancing corrects uneven weight distribution in the wheels by adding weights to the wheel rim.  Since the owner's manual didn't help me, I resorted to researching online. Welcome everyone to the BAR Moto Experience Blog! Here we will discover together whether or not I can change a tire on a motorcycle.  To answer this question, I will be embarking on a quest to remove a tire assembly from a motorcycle, remove the air, break the bead on the tire, remove the tire from the rim, remove the tire tube, replace the tire tube and tire on the rim, inflate the tire, and install the assembly back onto the motorcycle.  This task is part of a bigger picture, as this year I intend to travel to northern Ontario on a motorcycle. This kind of journey may require periodic maintenance and repair of my motorcycle in remote areas. To date, I have not changed a tire on my motorcycle. By asking this question and taking on this task, I hope to learn a new skill that could be vital to my journey to the north on my motorcycle.  Please join me in experiencing the highs and lows of this adventure through this blog!
